DTN Closing Livestock Comment 04/12 15:44 External Pressures Sent the Livestock Complex Tumbling Lower It was a taxing day for the livestock complex as external pressure sent the contracts falling lower. ShayLe Stewart DTN Livestock Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: The livestock complex struggled throughout all of Friday's trade which led to all three markets closing lower. The market's main focus points seemed to be on inflation and the continued spread of HPAI in dairy cattle. Hog prices closed lower on the Daily Direct Afternoon Hog Report, down $0.45 with a weighted average price of $86.60 on 1,575 head. May corn is up 6 3/4 cents per bushel and May soybean meal is up $8.80. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 475.84 points.
