DTN Closing Grain Comments 01/17 13:51 Soybean Prices Extend Losses, Ignore Lower Brazil Crop Estimates March soybeans fell 21 1/2 cents to their lowest close in seven months, ignoring lower crop estimates for Brazil on social media, while pressured by the anticipation of more rain ahead. March contracts of KC and Minneapolis wheat fell to new contract lows, pressured by the anticipation of precipitation in the extended forecast. Todd Hultman Senior Market Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed down 1 1/4 cents and December corn was down 2 1/4 cents. March soybeans closed down 21 1/2 cents and November soybeans were down 12 1/4 cents. March KC wheat closed down 7 1/2 cents, March Chicago wheat was up 1/2 cent and March Minneapolis wheat was down 10 1/2 cents.
