DTN Early Word Grains 05/05 05:35 Crop Prices, U.S. Stocks Trading Higher Early Friday July corn is up 2 1/2 cents, July soybeans are up 9 cents and July KC wheat is up 5 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: July corn is up 2 1/2 cents, July soybeans are up 9 cents and July KC wheat is up 5 cents. CME GLOBEX RECAP: Early Friday, U.S. stock futures are starting higher along with stocks in Europe after both the U.S. and Europe raised interest rates a quarter-percent this week. The next consideration for Fed policy arrives as the U.S. Labor Department reports on nonfarm payrolls and the unemployment rate for April at 7:30 a.m. CDT Friday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Thursday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 286.50 at 33,127.74 and the S&P 500 Index down 29.53 at 4,061.22. The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 3.35%. Early Friday, June Dow Jones futures are up 138 points. European markets are higher with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.45%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading up 0.57% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading up 0.46%. China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.48% and Japan's markets are closed for holiday.
