The rebound across the futures complex also supported the protein wheats, with dark northern spring edging back towards $10 mark and hard red winter up 20 cents from the lows of late last week. Crop Progress...Extreme heat across the Pacific Northwest this week will advance harvest of the winter wheat crop, which saw a big ratings improvement over the past week. The three-state weighted index climbed 2 points to 106% of average, as Oregon gained 12% in the good-excellent category to 63%. Washington also climbed 2% to 72% while Idaho slipped 8% to 70%. Winter wheat harvest is officially underway in all 3 states, with Oregon 18% complete, Washington at 5% and Idaho setting at 2%. Shipments...Weekly export inspections showed a strong rebound in U.S. wheat loadings last week, coming in at 17.4 mb to put shipments at 95 mb and 23% behind a year ago. Hard red winter registered 6.5 mb in loadings for the week, soft white had 2.4 mb and red spring shiped 2 mb.
