DTN Closing Grain Comments 07/26 13:49 Soybean Meal Surges Higher a Second Day, Wheat Close Behind August soybean meal closed up $24.90 Tuesday at a new contract high of $472.40, posting the largest percentage gain in the grain-related sector with wheat gains of 33 to 44 cents close behind. Strong commercial demand for physical meal plus a new appreciation for adverse weather in 2022 was behind much of Tuesday's buying. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: September corn closed up 17 cents and December corn was up 17 cents. August soybeans closed up 59 3/4 cents and November soybeans were up 37 3/4 cents. September KC wheat closed up 37 1/4 cents, September Chicago wheat was up 33 3/4 cents and September Minneapolis wheat was up 44 3/4 cents. The September U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.69 at 107.05. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 181.53 points at 31,808.51. August gold is down $3.10 at $1,716.0, September silver is up $0.21 at $18.54 and September copper is up $0.0310. September crude oil is down $1.61 at $95.09, September heating oil is up $0.0704, September RBOB gasoline is down $0.0369 and September natural gas is up $0.176.
