DTN Closing Grain Comments 01/03 13:50 Soybeans, Meal Start 2022 Higher; Other Grains Lower March soybeans closed up 16 1/4 cents Monday, supported by a $12.20 gain in March soybean meal, while the rest of the grain and oilseed sector slid lower. The U.S. Dollar Index is trading higher and February crude oil is modestly higher ahead of Tuesday's planned OPEC meeting. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: March corn closed down 4 cents and July corn was down 3 3/4 cents. March soybeans closed up 16 1/4 cents and July soybeans were up 16 1/4 cents. March KC wheat closed down 10 cents, March Chicago wheat was down 12 3/4 cents and March Minneapolis wheat was down 14 1/4 cents. The March U.S. Dollar Index is trading up 0.63 at 96.22. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 154.78 points at 36,493.08. February gold is down $27.00 at $1,801.60, March silver is down $0.47 at $22.88 and March copper is down $0.0405. February crude oil is up $0.91 at $76.12, February heating oil is up $0.0356, February RBOB gasoline is up $0.0343 and February natural gas is up $0.097.
