DTN Early Word Grains 04/27 05:53 Demand Surge Continues, Grains Higher July corn is up 24 cents, July soybeans are up 23 1/2 cents and July KC wheat is up 28 3/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: Early Tuesday, Dow Jones futures are slightly higher, while European stocks are lower. According to CNBC.com, India's economy is expected to contract in the second quarter, hurt by a big surge in coronavirus cases and the restrictions that go with it. Treasury yields are steady early Tuesday with the Federal Reserve getting ready to meet on Tuesday and Wednesday. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 61.92 at 33,981.57 and the S&P 500 up 7.45 at 4,187.62 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.57%. Early Tuesday, June Dow Jones futures are up 5 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 0.46% and China's Shanghai Composite Index up 0.04%. European markets are modestly lower with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.20%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.42% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 0.07%. The June euro is down $0.0025 at $1.2080. The June U.S. Dollar Index is up 0.19 at 90.97. The June 30-year T-bond is down 7/32nds, while June gold is up $0.70 at $1,780.80 and June crude oil is up $0.44 at $62.35. On China's Dalian exchange, quotes were unavailable. July common wheat on China's Zhengzhou exchange was down 0.4%. June Malaysian palm oil is trading up 3.8%.
