DTN Early Word Grains 06/05 05:56 Just Another Tuesday Turnaround July corn was 2 cents higher, July soybeans were 1 cent higher, and July Kansas City (HRW) wheat was 6 cents higher. By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: July corn was 2 cents higher, July soybeans were 1 cent higher, and July Kansas City (HRW) wheat was 6 cents higher. CME Globex Recap: It should come as a surprise to no one, following the beating the complex took Monday, that grain and oilseed markets were mostly higher early Tuesday morning. Chicago (SRW) wheat led the way, with quieter rallies seen in both corn and soybeans. DJIA futures were higher again early Tuesday, while the U.S. dollar remains under pressure. Energies and metals were mostly lower, though copper was able to post a small gain. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 178.48 points (0.7%) higher at 24,813.69, the NASDAQ Composite gained 52.13 points (0.7%) to 7,606.46, the S&P 500 rallied 12.25 points (0.5%) to 2,746.87, and the 10-year Treasury yield closed at 2.937% Monday. DJIA futures were 36 points higher early Tuesday morning. Asian markets closed mostly higher with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 63.60 points (0.3%), Hong Kong's Hang Seng up 95.47 points (0.3%), and China's Shanghai Composite up 23.01 points (0.7%). European markets were trading mostly higher with London's FTSE 100 down 34.49 points (0.5%), Germany's DAX up 126.85 points (1.0%), and France's CAC 40 up 32.46 points (0.6%). The euro was 0.0007 lower at 1.1691 as the U.S. dollar index dipped 0.03 to 94.01. June 30-year T-Bonds were 5/32 higher at 144'14 while August gold lost $1.20 to $1,296.10 and crude oil dropped $0.23 to $64.52. China's Dalian soybean futures were mostly higher and Malaysian palm oil futures were lower again overnight.
