By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: July corn was 3 cents lower, July soybeans were 6 cents lower, and July Kansas City (HRW) wheat was 9 cents lower. CME Globex Recap: The grain and oilseed complex was lower overnight into Wednesday morning, though the sell-off in general lacked enthusiasm. Flipping the coin from 24 hours ago, winter wheat markets were showing a 10-cent loss while spring wheat, corn, and soybeans were somewhat subdued. DJIA futures were storming back, naturally, after Tuesday's near 400-point loss. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 391.64 points (1.6%) lower at 24,361.45, the NASDAQ Composite lost 37.26 points (0.5%) to 7,396.59, and the S&P 500 fell 31.47 points (1.2%) to 2,689.886 Tuesday. DJIA futures were 100 points higher early Wednesday morning. Asian markets closed lower again with Japan's Nikkei 225 down 339.91 points (1.5%), Hong Kong's Hang Seng down 427.79 points (1.4%), and China's Shanghai Composite down 79.02 points (2.5%). European markets were trading mixed with London's FTSE 100 up 11.18 points (0.2%), Germany's DAX up 43.83 points (0.4%), and France's CAC 40 down 32.17 points (0.6%). The euro was 0.0071 higher at 1.1612 as the U.S. dollar index fell 0.38 to 94.45. The 10-year Treasury yield closed at 2.768% Tuesday with June 30-year T-Bonds 1 9/32 lower at 144'31 overnight. August gold lost $2.60 to $1,301.50 while crude oil gained $0.17 to $66.90. China's Dalian soybean and Malaysian palm oil futures were higher overnight.
