DTN Closing Livestock Comment 01/04 16:39 Cattle Futures Reverse From Early Session Highs to Close Significantly Lower The cattle complex settled lower with triple-digit losses evident throughout the feeder trade. On the other hand, lean hog issues closed moderately higher for the most part, supported by further signs of a strengthening cash market. According to the closing report, the national hog base is $1.41 higher ($55.50-$64.75), weighted average $61.83). Nearby corn futures closed 2 cents at the conclusion of a quiet and lackluster session. Psyched by further evidence of decent job growth in December, the Dow closed with yet another record (i.e., 25,075, up 152 points). The Nasdaq advanced by 12.
