By Darin Newsom DTN Senior Analyst 6:00 a.m. CME Globex: December corn was 2 cents lower, November soybeans were 1 cent lower, and December Chicago wheat was 1 cent lower. CME Globex Recap: Global markets spent the night trying to determine who won the U.S. Presidential debate. According to some sources, the best read on the outcome was at betting windows, while global equity markets were mixed. Grains were mostly higher, gaining back only a small part of what was lost Monday. Crude oil and gold were both lower while the U.S. dollar index posted a small gain. OUTSIDE MARKETS: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 166.62 points (0.9%) lower at 18,094.83, the NASDAQ Composite lost 48.26 points (0.9%) to 5,257.49, and the S&P 500 fell 18.59 points (0.9%) to close at 2,146.10 Monday. DJIA futures were 20 points higher overnight. Asian markets were mostly higher with Japan's Nikkei up 139.37 points (0.8%) and China's Shanghai Composite gained 17.74 points (0.6%). European markets were mostly lower with London's FTSE 100 down 15.89 points (0.2%), Germany's DAX fell 102.10 points (1.0%), and France's CAC 40 lost 27.92 points (0.7%). The U.S. dollar index was 0.100 higher at 95.397. Crude oil fell $0.62 to $45.31 while Brent crude lost $0.69 to $46.66. December gold was $3.10 lower at $1,341.00. China's Dalian soybean and Malaysian palm oil futures were both lower overnight.
