DTN Closing Livestock Comment 08/26 15:24 Livestock Futures Close Lower Wednesday Live cattle, feeder cattle and lean hog futures all closed mostly lower Wednesday. By Rick Kment DTN Analyst GENERAL COMMENTS: Cash cattle trade remained quiet Wednesday with only a few scattered bids reported. Asking prices are around $150 in the south and $236-plus in the North. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base is $0.35 lower compared with the Prior Day settlement ($68.00-$75.00, weighted average $74.44). Corn futures closed lower, down 3 3/4 cents in the September contract and down 3 3/4 cents in the December. The Dow Jones index rose more than 600 points on the close.
