CME Globex Recap: Early Tuesday, Dow Jones futures are starting lower, in line with lower European markets, but are still near its recent highs. June crude oil is trading higher after China reported higher import volumes of oil in March, including an 8.8% increase from Saudi Arabia, reported Reuters. The U.S. Dollar Index is slightly lower and most commodities are starting higher. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Monday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average down 123.04 at 34,077.63 and the S&P 500 down 22.21 at 4,163.26 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.60%. Early Tuesday, December Dow Jones futures are down 150 points. Asian markets are lower with Japan's Nikkei 225 index down 2.0% and China's Shanghai Composite Index down 0.1%. European markets are lower with the spot futures of the London FTSE 100 trading down 0.67%, spot futures of Germany's DAX trading down 0.53% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 0.24%. The June euro is up $0.0028 at $1.2081. The June U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.10 at 90.96. The June 30-year T-bond is down 14/32nds, while June gold is down $3.40 at $1,767.20 and June crude oil is up $0.78 at $64.16. On China's Dalian exchange, September corn was down 0.2%, July soybeans were up 0.3%, September soybean meal was up 1.1% and September soybean oil was down 0.1%. July common wheat on China's Zhengzhou exchange was unchanged. June Malaysian palm oil is trading up 1.9%.
