DTN Early Word Grains 04/15 05:53 Grains Keep Working Higher Early Thursday May corn is up 6 1/2 cents, May soybeans are up 9 1/2 cents and July KC wheat is up 4 1/4 cents. Todd Hultman DTN Lead Analyst Pre-6 a.m. Globex Prices: May corn is up 6 1/2 cents, May soybeans are up 9 1/2 cents and July KC wheat is up 4 1/4 cents. CME Globex Recap: Early Thursday, Dow Jones futures are starting higher with encouragement from modestly higher stock prices in Europe. Vaccine distribution continues to make progress around the globe in spite of recent concerns about the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. The 10-year Treasury yield is slightly higher Thursday and continues to be watched, but is also down from recent highs. OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Wednesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 53.62 at 33,730.89 and the S&P 500 down 16.93 at 4,124.66 while the 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 1.64%. Early Thursday, December Dow Jones futures are up 123 points. Asian markets are mixed with Japan's Nikkei 225 up 21.70 (0.1%) and China's Shanghai Composite down 17.73 (-0.5%). European markets are modestly higher with London's FTSE 100 up 31.43 points (0.4%), Germany's DAX up 48.74 points (0.3%) and France's CAC 40 up 17.61 points (0.3%). The June euro is up $0.0014 at $1.20. The June U.S. Dollar Index is down 0.11 at 91.56. The June 30-year T-bond is up 14/32nds, while June gold is up $12.20 at $1,748.50 and May crude oil is down $0.27 at $62.88. On China's Dalian exchange, May corn was up 1.0%, May soybeans were up 0.9%, May soybean meal was up 0.9% May bean oil was up 0.4%. May common wheat on China's Zhengzhou exchange was unchanged. June Malaysian palm oil is trading up 1.1%.
